serving of remark.

2. The deliberate intention shown to murder the
Europeans on board.
3. The ease with which the plot was carried out witn-
out any defence being made. The explanation shows an ex-traordinary want of foresight and precaution against such
an occurrence. The number of passengers who shipped at
Kumchuk and Kaukong was far in excess of the ordinary
average a fact very suspicious in itself but this appears to have passed quite unnoticed. In the enquiry held it came out in the evidence that of the two strong
